Robert Hovey is an Associate at Handler Law, where he focuses his practice on tax law, including corporate, partnerships and individual tax planning and compliance. With significant public accounting experience, Robert brings a valuable interdisciplinary perspective to complex tax matters as a member of the Advanced Planning and Family Office Practice Group.
Prior to joining Handler Law, Robert served as a Senior Tax Associate. At an international public accounting firm where he advised clients across a range of industries on federal and state tax compliance, structuring and planning strategies. His experience includes entity formation, transactional tax implications and risk mitigation in both closely-held businesses and large enterprises.
Robert earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where he was named to the Deans List and graduated with Honors. He served on The Law Review and is a published author and speaker..He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting with a minor in politics from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. His unique path has given him a strong foundation in both tax advisory and legal advocacy.
At Handler Law, Robert works closely with families, entrepreneurs and business entities to develop tax-efficient solutions that align with their broader financial succession planning and advanced planning goals.
